Kylian Mbappe (25-Paris Saint-Germain) has set a new record for most goals in a single season by a French player.
France won 1-0 against Greece in their Euro 2024 qualifying Group B match at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France, on Tuesday (June 20).
France secured the one-goal victory when Mbappe converted a penalty in the 10th minute of the second half. Greece, on the other hand, could not overcome a numerical disadvantage due to the sending off of Konstantinos Mavropanos in the second half.
France leads the group with four straight wins (12 points), while Greece is second with a 2-1-1 record (6 points).
The game was tied at 0-0 early in the second half when Antoine Griezmann was struck in the face by an opponent’s foot in the box, causing him to bleed, and a penalty kick was awarded.먹튀검증

Mbappe stepped up to the spot and had his first penalty saved by the opposing goalkeeper, but the referee ruled that the goalkeeper had moved first, so he was awarded another penalty. Mbappe rattled the net on his second attempt with an exquisite kick into the right corner.
The goal marked a significant milestone for Mbappe. With his 54th goal of the 2022-23 season, he broke the French record for most goals in a single season. The previous record was 53 goals in the 1957-58 season by legendary French striker Jules Fontaine.
This season, he scored 54 goals in 56 appearances for club and country. He has scored 41 goals for Paris Saint-Germain and 13 for his country.
Mbappe was the top scorer at last year’s World Cup 2022 in Qatar with eight goals. In the French Ligue 1, he has led the league in scoring for three consecutive seasons with 29 goals (six assists) this season.
Born in 1998 and still in his mid-20s, he reached the 40-goal milestone in his 70th cap for France. At this rate, he could soon surpass Olivier Giroud (AC Milan – 54 goals) as France’s all-time leading scorer in A-matches.
