Kang Wan-jin recently took first place in the men’s poomsae match for the national taekwondo selection at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games held in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province. With this, Kang Wan-jin secured a ticket to Hangzhou, which was given to one male member. The Hangzhou Asian Games will be held in September. Previously, Kang Wan-jin was selected as the national taekwondo team for the 31st Summer Universiade held in Gochang, North Jeolla Province in April, and won the national team qualification for the Asian Games this year. Shin Yeong-jae, Mayor of Hongcheon County, said, “Congratulations to Kang Wan-jin, who has achieved excellent results. Please do your best for the honor of the country and the region in the Asian Games and Universiade.”

Meanwhile, Kang Wan-jin, who won gold medals at the Asian Championships, Asian Games, and World Championships held in 2018 and the Universiade held in 2019, has achieved the first Grand Slam in Taekwondo Poomsae in Korea.
